About the Mhmf

The mission of the Madeleine Hindman Memorial Fund is to help the children of Comal County develop their Hearts, Souls and Minds through Dance, Work and Play. Thanks to the generosity and help of so many, the vision of hosting an annual event to raise money for this cause has become reality. The Madeleine Memorial 5K Christmas Stroll is held each December with the purpose of honoring and remembering the life and unwavering faith of Madeleine Hindman while growing this special ministry in her name.

In addition to the many dance scholarships, we have…

  • Sponsored two piano students,

  • Sponsored a young lady to participate in a summer mission with YWAM (Youth with a Mission), with which she traveled to Cambodia,

  • Sponsored 10 students to attend summer camp at Camp Bandina,

  • and helped an aspiring race car driver fund a new, larger cart for his growing body!

"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven."
                    Matthew 5:16
"I may die, the world may wither, mountains crumble, and the wind cease to whisper, but the Word of God continues forever! He, in His holy place, will watch and ever linger."
-Madeleine Camille Hindman, May 2012

To date, greater than 25 dance scholarships have been provided to local girls to study at the School of Classical Ballet & Dance (SCBD) in Gruene. The Madeleine Hindman Memorial Fund has been privileged to sponsor full-length ballets, including "Vivaldi's Four Seasons" presented by the SCBD Youth Company in November 2013 and again in 2014. These were followed by other original ballets based on the Beatrix Potter books and on the book of Esther. Each production provided the opportunity for 15-30 young local artists to bring the art of dance into the heart of New Braunfels and its families! This December 1 & 2, 2017, we are proud to sponsor the School of Classical Ballet and Dance and other local dancers, who will be bringing the Nutcracker to the stage at Oakwood Church. These young women and men are a delight to watch perform. These ballets multiply the gift of our sponsorship by also blessing the many people who get to enjoy them!  Most young dancers only get to perform at recitals once or twice a year, but to have the opportunity to participate in a Ballet is priceless for a young dancer.  We thank Miss Brittany and Miss Elizabeth Docter for partnering with us to identify young dancers to sponsor and for bringing such special performances to our community.
